Couple questions about the 94 made in 1984 it is a special edition by Dodge.
It is a 94 xtr. Looking to buy a new never fired rifle, with box.
First is the XTR any more desirable than the normal run of the mill Winchester 94?
Are the special editions that winchester produced in the 80's well made guns?
Thanks....

IIRC, "XTR" meant the gun had better or "extra" quality finish and checkering. NIB unfired, last time I saw that 1984 Dodge Marksman edition, they were asking around $700.00.

An administrator at the gun values board often points out that an unfired Winchester Model 94xtr 30-30 Dodge Marksman w/a crappy box, sometimes missing papers can fetch around $750. Good box, papers, unfired, no cosmetic defects has been suggested being at least/up to $1000, possibly more to a collector. One that's fired, missing box/papers can fetch as much as a normal Model 94xtr 30-30 in similar condition.

You have one wanting to sell or you trying to find one?

I haven't seen your model but I had a commemorative Boy Scout of America from 1985, but it was a 94-.22, EXCELLENT gun. Very nice finish, wood, blueing, would feed and fire ANY ammo. That was a good era for regular production guns, and an excellent era for commemorates .
