I am looking to buy a Winchester Model 94 in 30-30 made in 1954.....It is in very good shape.....Its not new in box but very clean.....What should I pay for this rifle....

Kind of hard to say. The market has been a bit nuts since Winchester stopped production back in '06 (IIRC). I saw one in bad shape that had been Krylon-spray-painted hunter green all over at a local shop a couple of years ago for over $700. That's just stupid, but I do see them on GunBroker and such places heading up that high if they're in nice shape. Pre-'64 is still a huge selling point. Minty condition, pre-'64 certainly could fetch $800+, and more, from the right buyer.

I sold one made in 50 for $650 in decent shape. I would venture to say if it is real nice that would be the ballpark price.

Price Depends on the Locale

I picked up a 1949 vintage M94 in 30-30 at the local Feed/Grain/Tackle and Gun store here in Northern NY a year ago, for $500. It's in about NRA 85% condition, and a solid shooter. But then, in my Dad's generation hunting in the late 1940's - 1950's, about everyone in the Adirondack Mtns. either carried a 94 or a Savage 99, and there are still a lot of them around. They tend to get sold locally about 2 months before hunting season, 'cause the younger guys want something new and shiny for deer hunting.;)
