What is the significance of the "AE" on a model 94, 44 Magnum Winchester rifle?
On a whim, I put in a bid on gunbroker this morning on one and wound up winning it.

Also wondering if it might be made in Japan?

Thanks for your response.

It is my understanding the "AE" stands for angle-eject, so you can mount a scope on it if you want.

I would have to double check but I think mine is made here in America.

Congratulations on your new gun, I love my .357 94AE.

The Angle Ejects (AE) were introduced as a modification by USRAC in the 1980s. They eject brass up & to the right to clear a scope.
Many of us felt it was an unnecessary change.
Yours was not made in Japan.
