I have a winchester 94 that I would like to mount a rear apature sight on. It has two screws on the left side of the reciever that are for mounting something. I don't want to drill or tap anything on the rifle. Thanks!

Those two screws are for the mounting of a receiver sight (aperture sight). Lyman (model 66a) and Williams make receiver sights for the Winchester 94, if your rifle is a pre-angle eject gun with the tapped holes on the upper rear left side of the receiver. You can find receiver sights at Brownells, Midway, and from ebay. Ebay almost always has the Lyman 66a at a price that beats the others by a bunch of bucks. Once you use these sights, you will never go back to you old notch open sights. The peeps are more accurate and faster to shoot.

Give Williams Sights a call. They will tell you exactly what you need.
I`ve got one of their "Peeps" on my 94. Very happy. :)

Yep, that's what the two screws are for. I would suggest the Williams Foolproof. A Lyman 66 is the only receiver sight I ever broke and it happened way too easily for my tastes.

I had one installed on mine in the 70's when I returned from SEA. I've even considered putting one on my M1911, but that most likely won't happen.

Both Lyman & Williams work well and are easy to install. I have both on 94's and Marlins. First one in has been on my 94 since 1965, worth every dime.

Williams peeps work well for me. If you have trouble figuring out which specific one while web-shopping, call Williams directly (800) 530 - 9028. They're very helpful.

I, too, have a Williams "FoolProof" receiver sight mounted on several of my rifles, including a Model 94. The first FP I had installed (in the early seventies) was on an early Remington Model 760. The Williams folks have been around for a long while; they make excellent products and are fine people to deal with.
