I just saved an old winchester model 94 lever action 30-30. Went to the range today and sighted it in I got it centered but it was still shooting right, which isnt really a big deal I just aim left a little but is there a way to adjust the sight left or right so I dont have to aim left to be on target?

I am new to the winchester lever actions and could use some help

Both the front and rear sights can be drifted in their dovetails for windage, although the rear will require more force to move. Remove the front hood & tap it over. If it is shooting right, move it right. Reverse that if drifting the rear. By the way, I start with a plastic screw-driver handle & tap with a hammer. If that does not work (and likely won't), I use fired brass. Just be really careful and don't use anything harder than brass.

If your eyes are as bad as mine, spend a few bucks on a Williams peep sight. It is fully adjustable, and I can one-hole @ 25 yards with mine.

The rear sight needs to move in the direction that you want it to shoot. If you have to drift the sight, you need a brass punch and small hammer and if you are shooting right, you need to move the rear sight to the left looking through the sights.

Not to confuse, you need to move the front sight the opposite that you want to shoot. If you're shooting right you need to move the front sight to the right.

It doesn't take a lot to change sometimes, so move a little and check.

A tiny move on that front post can have a greater change in poi left or right than you may want. I would suggest tapping the rear sight first. For rear sight adjustment, move it in the direction that you want you poi to go. With your rifle, drift it to the left. Use a wooden dowel and a small hammer. But experimentation with either method can yield outstanding results. Good luck.

Great help!

Thanks guys so much I will try it first chance I get I love the gun, I am going to look into the williams sights right now.

+1 on the Williams sights. I had one on my 94 .357 and loved it. The peep sight with the front fire sight made for a very easy to use sight set up
