I have a Winchester Super X2 and I have shot 2 Seasons of trap with it and not one flaw, all I used was 2 ¾†Federal skeet & game ammo (# 7 ½ shot), worked like a charm both seasons. After not shooting my shotgun in about 5 months I went out and figured I’d shoot some trap with my uncle who has an 870 Wingmaster, we were both giving each other grief because I like Winchester and he’s a Remington guy. I was so cocky in our bout that I went and bought Winchester Super Speed game & target loads, and he bought Remington Nitro Gold. Well as soon as we got there we set up the target thrower and I set my federal ammo aside and took out the Winchester ammo, I put two in the mag and one in the hole and said pull, bang! I hit it but my gun jammed! I couldn’t believe my good ol winny x2 jammed! I quickly yanked out the bad cartridge while he was loading the thrower so he didn’t notice. Bang I shot again and it jammed again this time he saw and talked a lot of crap about Winchesters. I knew it had to be the ammo, so I pulled out some feds. 2 in the mag 1 in the whole bang, bang, bang! Perfect not a hint of and error. He thought I was just blaming the foul-up on the ammo but then I gave him a round of this Super Speed stuff and bang, but he couldn’t get it out… he finally jerked it outta there and it had swelled all up, he then admitted that it was the ammo. Now I have always heard of people saying that Winchester guns are good but the ammo is horrible but I thought “whatta they know†well now I know what they know Winchester ammo is horrible! Has anyone ever had an experience like that before, or was it just because I didn’t buy Winchester AA loads?
