Got a '97 ('42 vintage) in pretty darn nice shape some years ago, had vague notion of doing SASS.
Never got that done, but still love the guns.
Only problem; never thot' the LOP remotely fit me on that shotgun, but cutting the original seemed sacrilege.
Compared to Winchester levers, it was maybe 1.5" longer.
Finally found a new wood stock and forend, and cut it by that inch and a half.
Other than the forend being a surprising pain to change out, it now shoulders much better; and the LOP is exactly the same as the Winchester levers, and that of an M16A1, ironically enough.
Anyway, any notions on the '97's greater LOP?
