Living in Jersey it is hard to sell or trade a handgun.
Even if you sell it on Gunbroker it is very hard and expensive to ship.

1) Took 2 handguns that would have netted me $550 on a good day, added $125 and came home with a Winchester 88 (1955 in .308)

2) Added a Leupold scope that cost me $125

3) I don't hunt and the hard kicking Winchester 88 was no fun at the range. In fact, it was the most unfun gun I ever shot.

4) Went to a gun show and traded the Winchester 88 straight up for a 1937 solid frame Model 1897 Riot gun.

Here it is with my 1957 Model 12 Riot:
Isn't America great!

$800 might a seem steep, looking at GB but, you're right--one gun in hand is worth two hassles in the mail.

I trained on the military version of that one when I was in Panama in the early 70's.

Good luck with the gun and I hope it works well...shot it yet?
