winchester mod 94 barrel swap ?

I was wondering about swapping my bad barrel on my 1974 vintage mod 94 30-30, if I got a 32 cal Winchester will it just go on or will I need to do some modifications? if i get a pre 64 will it fit? and this one is a top eject will that raise any issues?thanks for any reply's.

30-30 ammo will be a lot easier to find than 32 Winchester special if that matters

the thing is i found a barrel pretty reasonable and i reload all my own ammo so that isnt a issue, thanks for the reply.

SFAIK, any Type 2 barrel will readily interchange. Oughta stay with .30-30, though, just for ammo availability.

I had a junker Type 1 .25-35 with a welded barrel. I found a used .30-30 Type 2 barrel which easily went into place. Had to cobble up some sights and front band, but it shot okay.

The worst hassle with a 94 is re-assembly after all the parts and pieces sat around for a couple of years.
