Winchester Model 1300 Defender

Just got a hold of the above shotgun from a friend. He went to remove the barrel, and the bolt and slide came out of the receiver. Well no big problem I thought so, I removed the trigger group and replaced the bolt and the slide, back into the receiver, replaced the trigger assembly, and noted the slide would only operate very stiffly, and would not lock to allow the hammer to drop, as well as the slide release would not drop down. I've removed those listed parts about a half dozen times and just can't get that gun to function properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated as always. For clarification that is after completely re-assembling the shotgun replacing the barrel etc.

Come on RC surely you must know what's wrong with this shotgun?

Sounds like the ejector is out of place. It hooks on a little pin on the back left side of the receiver lays in a groove in the left side of the bolt.

kp, I thank ya, I'll have to check that out, although I did check receiver pretty thoroughly or so I thought.

I found the problem the left side slide support was slightly bent, just had to straighten it out a bit, and it's working fine. Anyway thanks for looking at this.
