Just saw a clip on Youtube of Mike Harvey re introducing the 87 lever action shotgun, he remarked the improvements on quality. Honestly did not look bad on close up takes.
A reliable 1887 was a pending shotgun on the Winchester clone linage.
A remake of the 1897 pump is on my prayers every Sunday as well.

Looks pretty good actually. The wood is much nicer than the brown painted mystery wood covered in shellac that parts foreign often apply. I appreciate Harvey's candour about dealing with the contract manufacturer. Pity they are in China, but one hopes the cost makes up for it.

The older Norinco 1897s are selling second hand for $600 - $700 ! So, I agree that a good '97 replica would be well received.

Interesting... Depending on price, that might be worth owning. I've wanted an 1887 for a while, but I might hold out for the 10 gauge version with a 30" barrel.

He put that clear will be affordable, mostly his firearms are affordable comparing to other brands.

I have three original 1887's and still shoot two of them with a square load of black powder. The third is a parts gun. I would be interested in a clone to shoot smokeless loads. Interesting...

Time will tell us, patiently waiting for it to hit the market and reviews.

I would be really interested in a better made 1887. I was looking at reviews of the Norinco ones but would rather not go that route if I can avoid it.
