I have a Winchester Model 23 12ga. 3" "pidgon grade" that I bought new around 1982. It is in 98% or better condition. It has about 300 rds through it and I have the original case, book(s), etc. What is it worth?
According to my ol' Standard Catalog of Firearms:
Exc: $1000 with Winchokes
Exc: $1300 Lightweight w/straight stock.
Of course prices will vary by location and condition.
Disclaimer: I use an older edition of the SCoF when checking prices as the listed prices seem to match the current market here in Michigan a little closer. YMMV.
The current Blue Book shows a higher price for a Model 23 Pigeon Grade, 12 ga., standard weight, WinChoke option became standard in 1986, disc. 1986. Last MSRP was $1460.
98% = $2000 (subtract 10% if without WinChokes)
I've seen higher asking prices on line.
John
P.S. - Here's a new one with fixed chokes in a Browning hard case with a Buy It Now price of $2650.
