Hey everyone,
I recently received my uncle's Winchester model 25 in 12 gauge. It is a pump gun and looks just like a model 12. There isn't a ton of info out there that I can find on it. From what I can find it looks like it's a model 12 without a removable barrel.
I am wondering if anyone knows more about this gun that could teach me some more about it. Is this just a poor man's model 12? What is the purpose of the non removable barrel besides making it a pain in the rear to clean? I noticed the shells do not get locked in the magazine tube like my Benelli but instead rest on the elevator. Is this normal? It seems to cycle fine.
The stock has seen better days, the butt pad is cracked, and it has a poly-choke on the end of the barrel so I am not really interested in the monetary value of it. The steel all looks good and it does shoot good.
I plan on using this as a grouse gun instead of lugging my benneli around as it is lighter and has a shorter barrel.
Thanks for your help!
