I'm looking for a 308 win target rifle. I specifically like the Winchester model 70 Stealth as it has pre 64 action with controlled round feed, very similar to the mauser 98, long bull-barrel and a nice stock.

Does anyone have any experience with the MOA trigger?
How does it compare to the Savage accutrigger?
Is this trigger user adjustable? I like mine to be between 2 and 3 lbs.

Thx in advance

Peter

It's not a pre 64 action. They were hand fitted. It's a CNC copy of one.

The trigger is NOT as good as the accu-trigger.

it's a good rifle but nothing special.

I have a new Stealth, and find the trigger a bit heavy, but completely clean in its function. It is no where near as-light-as the Accu-Trigger. :( But the, I have Timney triggers on all of my other centerfires, and the Accu-Trigger is no where as-crisp-as the Timney. I'll likely change-out the stock trigger sometime this year with a Timney.

The rifle is extremely accurate for what I do...shoot steel and varmints. For the price, and the features, I think the Stealth is a good deal. As to user adjustable trigger on the Stealth, I have no idea.

The new Winchesters are BETTER than the pre-64's. While being basically the same design. The CNC machining is more accurate than any hand fitting. Never found the accutrigger to be anything special. They can be adjusted light, but they are not very crisp. I'd take the new Winchester trigger any day. Mine is perfect.

I'm very familiar with the old Winchester trigger, which was one of the best production rifle triggers made. Very easily adjusted by the user. Why they had to change is beyond me, but I suspect lawyers or advertising guys had something to do with it.;) The Stealth is a good one.

I also do not care for the Accutrigger as they seem kind of mushy in their trigger break. Then again I'm an unabashed gun-snob who gladly pays the price for more high end rifles like my new Cooper, which has an outstanding trigger with no need for gimmicks.

I have a Stealth in .308 Win. It isn't a Stealth II but it is one sweet rifle. The standard trigger is very adjustable in my opinion. I had the gunsmith do it for me and it is very nice. Haven't shot mine much in the 5 years I've owned it though. Last Saturday I just ran the round count up to 90, that isn't even 20 rounds a year.

Was just looking for another one in .22-250 but heard they aren't making the Stealth anymore.
