I just purchased a Winchester Model 70, and I need help identifying the model designation. I've been a Remington guy, and I'm not familiar with the hundreds of Model 70's out there. There is no similar model on the current Winchester website. It has a walnut stock with nice checkering and Monte Carlo buttstock and no black forend tip. It has blued metal and a detachable bottom magazine that holds four rounds. The barrel has me a little confused. It's not super-thin, like a normal sporter barrel, on, say, a Remington 700, but it's not quite as thick as a heavy varmint barrel, like a 700VS or 700PSS. It's a push feed not CRF, and the caliber is .308.
I've searched Gunbroker and Gunsamerica, but have found no similar model. Anyone ever seen one like it.
