Hello,
I have a Winchester Model 77 rifle (magazine fed model). I guess I'm seeking confirmation on what this rifle "eats".
Info I had ran across on the internet states that Win 77's should be.22 LR. The barrel reads .22L (lots of spaces) then Rifle.
It's a 1954, serial 8xxx. I do not have a original magazine for it.
I do not have an original Winchester magazine. With a new TripleK magazine it feeds .22L just fine, but .22LR stall at a high angle at the start of the brass (LRN or HP doesn't change the issue).
Did they make a Long only variant? Or is the TripleK mag faulty?
Didn't want to spend $80 for a vintage Winchester Mag to find out that it is indeed a Long not LR, so I figured I would ask around first.
Thanks for your time
