Winchester Model 88/100 magazines

I have aquired two magazine boxes (no followers) for Win M88/100. I am wondering if there is a way to make some other follower work in these boxes? I have made inquiries about buying followers and get no positive response at all. No one has any, and seem little interested in my situation. I haven't owned one of these guns in years, but it seems a shame to just toss em out or let em sit forever. It seems a follower does the same function in every box magazine in the world--it just pushes upward on the ammo--does anyone have any experience adapting a follower to a different magazine?
Maybe I should just put em on Ebay and sell em without followers?--any suggestions?

You might contact Wisner's and ask if the will sell you just the follower and/or spring.

The follower performs a similar function in all magazines, but the shape of the follower will vary depending on the cartridge. IIRC, there are two types of followers for an 88/100; one for 243/308/358 and one for 284.

The body of the mag should be marked for which cartridge it's designed to take.

Just got off the phone with Wisner's--it didn't go well. I spoke to a guy who is knowlegable on these magazines. I told him I needed new followers/springs. He said "we don't do that any more". I asked if he could suggest a source of these parts and he said "no". And that was it. He acted as if he didn't want to be bothered and finding there was no money to be made he was short, dead over the phone. I can take a bad phone call, but I'm just relating my experience with Wisner's. It wasn't good.

So now on the the next suggestion. I will try Jack First, --I wonder if any other parts vendor might have something?

Good info, Nat--one of my mags has the numbers 243-308 on them. They were so fine I didn't see them earlier. But I have learned either mag will fit 88's or 100's, but the follower must be the right shape for the rifle's caliber.
Again I am open to any/all suggestions.
