Winchester Model 9422M XTR .22 mag tube feed

I am the original owner of this .22 mag rifle. It is a tube feed lever action rifle.
When this rifle was younger, I could fill the tube to the max w/ .22 mag shells, and then gently and quietly lever a round into the chamber for a morning of good hunting. As the years passed and many rounds, many rounds have been fired in this rifle, I can no longer fill the feed tube to the max and gently, quietly chamber a round. On entry to the chamber, the bullet jams and kind of gets stuck as it leaves the feed tube. My thought was, maybe through all the years of shooting this rifle, that maybe the spring w/in the tube has weakened or there is some type of debris or rust present within the tube, etc. My thought was to replace the entire tube, IF that could solve the problem. Any help on how I can fix this minor aggravation on the finest shootin .22 mag ever made by man would be greatly appreciated. PS -
I have tried to remove the small holding pin from the removal tube which holds the rounds, but I sure can't figure out how to remove that pin. Please share with me how to successfully remove that small pin located on the end of the feed tube. And how to replace it. I have scratched my country noggin and can't figure out how that pin was installed and how to get the little pin out.

Before you remove anything, have you examined the end of the tube? Sometimes there is a minor dent that can be "bumped" out, and that solves the problem.

With that Winchester lever action, I would guess the internals are wearing.
The cartridge lifter and guides wear and everything doesn't line up quite like the parts did when the gun was new.
You can still find replacement internal magazine tubes and going that route would be easier than trying to replace the original magazine spring.

I am starting to see more and more of these rifles come into the shop.
People started snapping them up for outrageous prices when Win. Inc. went out of business and they then found out that their $750.00 'used but it is a bargain' rifle was having some major problems when sold,,,,,,

I can't figure out your question?

I have a 9422 and a 9422M and both have a blue steel pin through the tube that holds the knurled steel end on, and also locks the inside tube into the outside tube.
Both stick out one side, and are flush on the other.

Is this the pin you are asking about?

All you would need to do is support the tube on a steel bench block with a clearance hole in it, and use a proper size pin punch to knock them out with a small hammer.

After that, use a cleaning rod chucked up in an electric drill, with a bronze bore brush & solvent, to give the tube a through cleaning.

Check the tube for straightness by rolling on a table-top. They can be straightened if done carefully, and dents can be raised by using a proper size # drill for support inside the tube, and tapping the dent out with a small hammer.

If all that fails, you can contact the Winchester parts department here and see if they still have new tubes available.

Thanks for some real good information. The note from the gunsmith on the rifles "internal parts starting to wear" was probably one of the best reasons why my rifle is not performing as good as it was when it was new.
Also, thanks for sharing with me how to get that blued pin located near the knurled end out. I will definitely follow your instructions and give it a shot.
