I am about to buy a semi in 3.5 mag 12ga. I am down to 2 models sx3 or 11-87 .I `m looking for tough & reliable for ducks & skeet. Any input would be appreciated. thanks to all!

The only two 3.5 inch capable guns I've had any experience with (A benelli sbe 1 which I once owned) and a Remington 1187 supermag. Both had a hard time digesting light loads. Unless you're going to be shooting a lot of 3.5's you might want to reconsider a gun with that chambering. I have no experience with the Winchester or the Beretta. I firmly beleive there is no one perfect gun to do it all with, just some good compromises.

How tough are you? I had a duck shooting buddy who had a Bennelli Super Black Eagle, and I never saw that thing hiccup one single time, even with cripple loads. But man, if you stick your tongue out like Michael Jordan used to, it could be a disaster. I shot it a few times. It handled beautifully, and it is the only gun I ever shot in the field where I really noticed the recoil. I was thinking of getting one but I drug my feet until tungsten matrix and Hevi-Shot obviated the need for a 3-1/2" gun. I've had 4 ten gauges, but nothing belted me like that thing did with the hot stuff. But it was dead reliable.
