I know that a lot of people claim that the Winchester primer is hotter than others and can be substituted for a magnum primer. I also noticed that the older Hornady 7mm Remington Magnum loads used the standard WLR primer (at least the version in the Loadbook USA I saw appeared to use it), but the newer Hornady manual uses the Magnum WLRM primer.
My question is, for 7mm Remington Magnum would it be okay to use the standard Winchester WLR primers I already have or should I go and grab a box of magnum primers? How much of a difference will they make?
I will likely be using Reloader 22, Reloader 19, Ramshot Magnum, or IMR 4350 (probably in that order).
And I know it may all be personal (or rifle preference), but what brand of magnum primer is most recommended (at least for 7mm Remington Magnum)?
