I've been waiting for a day without wind for weeks and am tired of waiting. I'm going to be shooting rifles at 100 yards (.243 and .223) and pistols (.38, .357, .44 mag) out to 50 yards. Sustained winds of ~13 mph are forecasted for the afternnon, as usual. I'm tired of waiting though. I know the 100 yard rifle shots could be greatly affected but I think I can count on at least 25 yard pistol with little to no affect. Guess I'll pack cans instead of paper to shoot at. I have dozens of new loads to try...

Around here you can't wait on the wind or you will never get to shoot. 13 MPH is a slight breeze here :)

Have fun

I empathsize. I hate shooting with wind blowing to my left or right. My Kentucky windage sucks.

Take a small flag with you any type. put it in the ground about 10-15 yards ahead of you. This will give you an idea of how hard the wind is blowing at any given time as well as the correct direction. one of those 3x5 flags would do you can get almost anywhere

ditto for s.d.

go shoot and don't worry too much about the wind. couple extra staples is all you need in the paper.

your 100 yard rifle won't be impacted enough to get excited about. probably have a tougher time getting the gun steady on the bench than impact deflection from wind...

Ahh Grasshopper.......Wind Doping is an art all true Riflemen must master.

.243 bucks the wind fairly well within the range you intend to shoot. ;)
