Thinking awfully hard about getting a 10 mm witness. Which for me is kinda odd because I'm a big fan of Dan Wesson 1911s. Anyway how do the polymer guns hold up? Is EAA still importing these? Any online retailers have full size steel guns in stock? The new Daly Jerichos aren't coming in 10mm are they?

IMHO, best buys in 10mm now is the EAA Witness Elite Match (about $500) or the Glock 20 SF (About $600) if you want polymer.

I think the steel frame Witness guns are very good for the price, I don't care much for the Witness polymer guns -- although they take the same magazines they feel almost a blocky as a Glock to me. Mine are the older model and it seems the frame flexes under recoil leading to random pre-mature slide lock with full power loads, maybe the newer ones are better, but EAA customer service is less than stellar.

Pass up the new style Witness 10mms.

Spend more money and buy that DW Razorback or CBOB.
At least your slide won't crack, and if it does..
you have some very professional customer service to help you.

However, look for a old style used Witness to come your way and you will
Probably get a good gun at a great price.

MY old style Witness 10 isn't going anywhere because it has been a great gun.
I just hate to see them changing the slides and people having so many problems..I really can't advise anyone to get a newer one.

As for a Dan Wesson 1911. They don't offer the gun that I really want.

--A Valor in 10mm, as I prefer a blued or black 1911.

I really liked shooting my buddy's tuned Kimber Eclipse .45, but it is in the
wrong caliber for me.

The mentioned stainless finish and caliber is what made me decide
to sell my perfect running DW CBOB.

Note that this was years ago and long before .45 Ammo became so expensive.

Have you seen the new Dan Wesson T-shirts??

Good to know. Thanks for the info. I know where there is a slightly used and scratched 10mm DW, maybe I can talk them down some.

I've been thinking about getting my Dan Wesson RZ45 melonited for the same reason you suggest. LIKE THIS.

Yes , very nice. I see that he changed the CBOB's trigger.

I also like a thin trigger on a 1911.
