Need help buying a gun I really do not need:) Just do not have a 10mm to there is a empty space in my calibers.:D

Anyone with experience with this brand and caliber gun?

They make a whole lot of variations. I am looking for a 10mm and do not want to spend a fortune. I like that they are a CZ clone but know nothing about reliability. I called EAA and for warranty the owner has to pay to send it to them AND pay $20 for return shipping which I think sucks. Only come with one mag also.

Some of their high end guns are race guns used in competition so they must do something right?

I prefer DA/SA which is the only reason I am looking at them. The polymer is of course less expensive.

In this caliber I really do not want a 1911 style gun. If so I would get the Dan Wesson but it is expensive. Sig now has a P220 in 10 mm but it is SA only (Lipsey special has a decocker) but again big money.

Kinda leaves Glock if the EAA is not so good. Not a Glock fan but they so make good reliable guns, just are so big in my hands.

I have shot the Rock Island 1911. Seems like a pretty nice gun for money but will it hold up?

So should I take the chance on a EAA polymer full size.?? This one: or for a little more just get the Gen 4 Glock ?

Thanks for any suggestions

I have a compact standard and an Elite Limited, both 10mm. My sister has a 10mm Elite Match. All have been fantastic guns.

There was a problem with 10mm models that had a rounded slide profile (cracking @ ejection port), but they weren't made that way for long, and most have been refitted with squared slides at this point. Just avoid those if you encounter one.

No experience with the poly frames, so I can't help you there. Steel frame guns without the relief cut will crack behind the mag release button, but it does not affect them at all. The cut was introduced around 2007 IIRC to mitigate cracked frame complaints. Neither the crack or the relief cut are visible with grips panels installed.

Thanks. Even Colt Deltas had a cracking problem. Hope they have fixed them all.

I would like the Elite stock I or stock II but can't see spending the money on a 10mm that probably would not get shot that much.

I shoot my CZ 75 SP01 Shadow Custom 9mm the most. It was worth the money.:)

I have a standard steel model in 10mm. If you intend shooting full-power loads, I'd suggest sticking with the steel frame: recoil isn't bad, but you don't need a lighter gun. Also most of the upgrade parts from suppliers like henningshops.com are for the steel frame guns. My gun has been completely reliable once the recoil spring had been replaced with an 18# unit. I have fairly small hands, and given the choice between the Witness and the Glock 20 I found the Witness felt comfortable and well balanced, while the Glock felt like a sledge hammer. I haven't needed to deal with EAA for service, what I have seen on line is a mixed bag. A lot of the bad reviews seem to be people repeating criticism they've seen online rather than personal experience. Given the pluses of the Witness design and the reasonable price, if you want to try out the 10mm cartridge it's the logical choice.

I had a witness elite match 10m...fantastic gun. Reliable, accurate....great shooter all around. Looked great as well.

There was a write up of 6 10mm Rock Island Arms pistols in a recent gun magazine but which one I forgot - maybe Guns and Ammo. The writer was impressed with all of them and the prices were reasonable. The RIA website shows all the versions in 10mm.

Think I will just get a Glock. Not a Glock fan boy either but the SIG I like is too expensive

Big, ugly but works and is reliable, and comes with 3 mags.

EAA gives you one and their warranty makes you pay to ship to them and back. Forget them.

I shot the 1911 Rock Island. Nice gun for the money but not a real 1911 fan.

The few Rock Island 10mm reviews I've read have been favorable.

They seem to have pretty good products. I bet they build a stout 10mm.

All the Best,
D. White

If you want a really awesome 10mm, I would try the Tanfoglio Witness Match. I have on in .40. Its single action only though. Best out of the box trigger I have ever shot.

I paid around $500, they may be a little more now. I pretty sure they have in 10mm.

Pretty sure I have read of both cracked frames and cracked slides in Tanfoglio 10mm Witness pistols.

I was going to buy a Glock G20, but have seen too many rounds of bulged brass from Glock 10mm pistols.

As far as the Rock Island 10mm 1911s, I have not read much on that particular model yet. But fize you, I might be tempted...I have read a lot of positive reviews on RI 1911s.

Please do some further research before buying.
