Okay, the witness is supposed to be a cz-75 clone, so does it accept the cz-75 mags? It just seems the witness in both the .45 and 9mm only come with one mag, and I like to have a second.

My other question, what is the going rate for cz-75 full size 9mm? I was at a gun shop today and they had a very nice used cz-75 for $350 with case and two mags. It felt so good in my hand, and am thinking about maybe going back to pick it up. The grips don't seem to be like the others I have seen, and they have a thumb rest? Don't know what to call it, but it sure felt comfy in my hand.

thanks as always

bill (still can not make up his mind, it is so hard when you can not afford to buy several :( )

I need another mag for my Witness too. I was told at the shop that Cz mags do not work, but he may have been wrong. Someone here will know for sure.

Down at Sportsmans Wharehouse, I believe the CZ 75s are going for 379 new.

The Witness .45 and the CZ-97B .45 both use the same 10 round magazines, made for both companies by Mec-Gar.

Last time I checked, the Witness and CZ 9mm do NOT interchange. The magazine catch is located in a slightly different place.

For cheaper Witness magazines, check CDNN:

http://www.cdnninvestments.com/eaa.html

They also carry CZ magazines.

This may not apply to the Witness but a CZ75 mag seemed to feed fine in my Baby Eagle. It just would not reliably hold the slide back. However, The BE mags seem to work fine in my SP01.

The Witness is a CZ clone, not a CZ copy, and the magazines do NOT reliably interchange. MecGar makes both mags, so they can be had relatively inexpensively now.
The Witness is made by Tanfoglio, and has been imported under the names of FIE and Excam, as the TA90, TZ75, Springfield P9, Jericho 941, and now the Witness. The Baby Eagle has frame and slide made by Tanfoglio, so BE mags will also interchange, but may not hold the slide back.
Best to buy the MecGar MADE for that gun.

Going rate

Going rate seems to vary considerably by location.

Around me, the best I can do on a NIB 75B 9mm is $379.99

That seems to be considerably lower than a lot of other places.
