anybody try/use this? just paging through a catalog and saw some. i know about the centerfire and pistol ammo, just never heard anything about the shotgun ammo.

No direct experience, but feedback I've gotten is that it does go bang every time, but it's not tight patterning in anyone's shotgun. Dirty also.

Buy a little and try it out. Cheap experiment. If it works for you, buy lots of it.

going to the gunshow in a little bit, will pick some up, along with other "00" and will let you know how it compares.

I am taking a defensive shotgun class this weekend. Yesterday we patterned our guns and a few people had Wolf. The instructor said that Wolf seems to be loaded hotter than most other buckshot (based on felt recoil) and it usually shoots a looser pattern although he has seen a gun or two where it shot really good.
So, based on that experience, it probably won't be the best possible load, but it would certainly be good practice ammo depending on the price. I have no idea what it costs. If it is anything like their rifle ammo and you can save almost 50%, I would buy it.

I've tried the Wolf 00 and as mentioned by previous posters it doesn't deliver the tighest patterns. For practice & close range I think it's great but I just stock up on Federal Premium 00 from Natchez when it's on sale (got my last batch for $1.89/box).
