I wouldn't put any of that crap through MY M1. Patton would be rolling in his grave if he knew.....

M1 Garand ball ammunition was actually fairly mild. There is a velocity of 2750 fps that people quote from an Army TM, but they don't understand that that TM is not a reloading manual. The velocity they quote is the velocity out of an calibrated Army pressure barrel, not a M1 Garand barrel. Most 30-06 commercial loadings are too high of pressure for Garands and will cause function problems.

Have some ppu m1 loads, but saw nice price on some of this wolf stuff.
Think I'll stick with the ppu m1 loads. Actually not bad priced themselves.
Considering rolling some of my own. I know IMR-4895 is the classic powder, but is H-4895 that much different seeing how close they are on the burn rate chart?? Does H4895 give a much different pressure if used??

Without throwing out any numbers and individual loads, when you refer to any decent manuals , you'll find that with a given bullet, pressures with either H or IMR 4895 will be very close to each other. Although there is something like 15 +/- "designated" powders to be used in the M1, i'll bet the majority of reloaders will be found using one of the following; IMR/H 4895, IMR 4064, & Varget.
