Just thought I would warn those of you who might be as uninformed as my brother and I were, DON'T BUY WOLF MILITARY CLASSIC .223 AMMO!! We bought a bulk pack of 500rds and tried to shoot it out of my brothers Bushmaster AR and had to work the bolt manually after each shot. It was like they weren't powerfull enough to bring the bolt all the way back. Sometimes it wouldn't even go back far enough to eject the spent brass. We got rid of them and got a case of 820rds of PMC. Just thought I would give you all fair warning.

dang!

I bet you sold them cheap too!

I wish I'd of been around when you did as this ammo works fine out of AK .223 rifles. It's kinda dirty but it shoots and cylces fine and gives decent accuracy - not as good as quality brass cases ammo, but fine for plinking.

I don't think it's that it's crap, I think its that your Bushy doesn't like the ammo - which is not the first time I've hear that.

I personally only run brass cased ammo out of my AR's.

Correction, guns that can't shoot Wolf Military Classic=CRAP.

Just joking, but it works fine in AK pattern rifles and most other guns that aren't terribly ammo sensitive.

Recent Military Classic ammo has been polymer case. The problem is the rifle not that the line of ammo. Wolf Military Classic in 7.62x39 for instance is more accurate than many other loads in many rifles. If your AR doesn't like it don't feed it AK food.

My AR has never been fed anything but Wolf black box and Military Classic. It's had 300-400 rounds through it without even being cleaned and no troubles whatsoever.

Iv'e used it in my saiga with good results, but in an AR? I could see how problems would arise.

my bushy wouldn't cycle the wolf mil classic either. so far, that is the only ammo it didn't like and i have tried all types of cheap (read: not outrageously expensive) surplus ammo

The way I see it, is that Wolf is Russian. Keep it in Russian style guns :) haha

But, the polymer coated shells work out WAY better than the old lacquer style classic casings.

My DPMS swallowed 500 rounds of Wolf right on thru...back to back out of 16 loaded mags, not one problem...now my Colt is another story...

It's your gun, not the ammo. Some ARs (typically Bushmasters) don't like certain types of ammo (not just steel cased).

Don't bash Wolf just because it is Russian. They have as much practical experience with firearms and ammunition as any Western company.

I shoot Wolf out of my SKS, no problems, pretty accurate, good range ammo. Now the Wolf 30 carbine, that's another story, I'm not impressed. Its very dirty, probably underpowered since it ejects eradically, and not very accurate. But the Wolf 7.62x39 is good stuff in my opinion, especially the classic with the 124gr HP bullet.

Yes it is cheap ammo.
Some AR's dont like it. Some will shoot it just fine.
When I shoot Wolf I always make sure I shoot it last if I am shooting various types of ammo.

The old saying still appears to have some truth in it.

Western ammo for western guns. Commie ammo for commie guns.

Wolf may or may not be crap, but I recently bought 100 rounds of it and fired it through my High Standard AR-15, without a single issue. All rounds fed, fired and extracted without fail. I bought it because it was cheaper than anything else I could find locally.

don't condemn a brand of ammo because your rifle does not shoot it well.
+1

That would've worked wonderfully out of an AK derivative. Stories about about why WOLF is generally a bad idea out of ARs; maybe next time, you should read up on something before buying 500 rounds of it to shoot out of a specific rifle, and know the possible bad side effects.

Wolf .223 is usually tolerated better by rifles with chrome chambers.

However, just because you have a chrome chamber, does NOT mean your rifle will automatically tolerate Wolf.

I have two AR15-type rifles. Neither rifle has a chrome chamber, and neither rifle will tolerate polymer or laquer Wolf .223 ammo.

The spent cases stick in the chambers, and the extractors rip the rims off the stuck casings.

That would really bug me too.
My friend swears by his Colt AR-15 and has no complaint, other than the price. Will ask him about whether he uses Wolf in it. He has it either in .223 or for his Walther pistol.

Although this won't help you, but to compare, my used Mini 14 has had only two mis-feeds with Wolf M. Classic with about 250-300 rounds +.
For the same .223 rounds, are the Mini 14's gas port/cylinder or bolt less or more efficient than with the AR?

It is ironic, with all the praises for the AR-15s.

Will Wolf accept the ammo for a refund, as I've read somewhere?
