I've recently had excellent results using Wolf SR Mag rifle primers to replace CCI 41s. Now, I am thinking of trying one of their large rifle primers to replace the 34s.

M14 application, so slam fires are a concern.

Anyone else tried them?

The SR Mags have the thicker cups so they apply to 5.56 well - and they load exactly as, in terms of recipes, the 41s.

I am wondering if the Wolf Large Rifle series of primers has the thicker cups as well? If anyone has any experience using them, etc?

Thanks in advance.

Go with the magnum LRP's. Definitely thicker cups which will help prevent slamfires. Slamfires are also caused by oversensitive primers. The milspec primers use a controlled sensitivity compound as well as a stout cup.

I have been using Wolf magnum primers and like them a lot. Nice and consistent. Groups every bit as good as standard (non Bench Rest) primers and are a lot less money.

I did have a problem with Wolf LP primers. They are slightly bigger than Winchester's and Remington's primers. I know you are talking about Rifle primers just giving you a heads up on the Pistol primers.
