Okay, i was at my local FFL, a good friend of mine, and i asked him about getting a few cases of wolf. Then he told me this, wolf has been not been importaed since the georgia incident?!?! Appreaently his suppliers told him that wolf has stopped importing ANY ammo at all since that happened. I have not seen anything about that here on THR, has anyone else heard something like this? My FFL would have no reason to lie to me, espically since i was going to buy a case or two of ammo.

(if this has been discussed, please show me to the other thread, thanks)

Wolf is importing again. The supply lines are flowing. I recently saw new Wolf 7.62x54R 150 grain ammo at Cabela's for the first time in over 6 months, which means it must be a new shipment. They had to find a new distributor, but they're back.

James Ha the head guy for Wolf in the US does this every so offten to drive the prices up thru inflatted demand and artificial shortages. I called him on it at SHOT and he all but admitted it in front of a booth full of customers.

Not very 'High Road'. That really sucks.

The little country that is by the black sea, russia invaded or something, i don't remember the main portion. At the time, i just thought "politions are at it again..."

Good news about them starting to import again though! I will tell my FFl that, he will be happy.

Wolf shouldn't try to inflate prices at all. The main reason people use Wolf is because of Wolf's lower prices. In fact, right now, I'm close to having another brand for cheap ammo.

I've been buying... no ammo, except 22lr and 12ga. I stopped shooting x39 when it went over $.20/rd.

Well, you probably have a big stash, right? I have only been shooting for a year or so, and i only haev like 300rd of .223 around...:(

If Wolf and Barnaul were smart they'd keep their prices low and become the two largest manufactor's of small arms ammunition. I recently bought 10 boxes (20 rounds) of Golden Bear 7.62X39 at $7.99 per box. If they'd been priced at $4.99 or $5.99 per box I would have bought a case or two.

I heard from one guy that AIM has a bunch of stuff stuck on the docks, and custom's won't release them.

Maybe this is what's happening to a lot of business, especially ammo.

Prices are so high on crappy Wolf steel/berdan 7.62x39 ammo around here the last case I bought was a case of USA made brass/boxer 7.62x39 from ammoman.com. It was $600, but at least it can be reloaded.

$8 a box. $8 x 50 boxes per case = $400. At that price I can pay $600 for high-quality ammo.

Your source doesn't exist. If you can't prove it by sharing, then it doesn't count. Enjoy, but enjoy alone.

You know, there are differences in supply around the country. While people were saying that in certain places you couldn't get AR's or Glocks, GAT Guns in Dundee IL had them and had not moved their prices up.

I was talking to a gentleman down in Ottowa, IL this weekend at the Farm and Fleet and he said there was no .38 special anywhere to be found. But I have seen a decent amount of it at WalMarts up here in the Chicagoland area. Those WalMarts had no .44 magnum, though, but I picked up 10 boxes of it between the WalMart and Farm And Fleet in Ottowa.

These shortages are not evenly distributed. They are very odd. You have to look around your area and outside your area and check all the mail order companies too.

Glock 17/19/22/23/26/27's are still $499 (cash) at GAT Guns. There are decent deals out there if you know where to look.

Anyway, my point is that maybe he does have that source. It's possible that is all it goes for in his area and they guy doesnt't want to get involved with mail order.

There is no freaking 7.62x39 around here though, except for USA made brass stuff (expensive) or real low grade surplus corrosive stuff, going for way too much ($300 for a case) considering it is junk.

I can still buy it for under $5 all day long

From this guy i was able to get it for $6 (or less if i got it by the case) per box all day long, or at least untill his supplies would run out.

Anyone know where i can get some heavier gr (62+) wolf for a decent rpice, about 500rd? Maybe a K or two if it is a really good price.

I just had 1000 rounds delivered today. $300 for the ammo and shipping. Not great but better than WWB in 7.62 x 39. Supplier is now sold out. They will get more.

I bought the last 3 x 20 boxes from my local guy the other day ($6.50 per box) but he says more is coming.

I would buy local if I could afford it... I would end up paying 25-50% more. I hope there becomes a big surplus of ammunition, but with the way WOLF is importing they probably wont let it happen.

I just received delivery of a '640 tin' of 7.62 x 39 from Cabelas. Ordered back in November when they were offering $30 off any order of $150 or more. List was $135 for the tin and I purchased another item to get to $150 to get the rebate. Obviously a good price.
