Women at the Range

Alot of women need to work on leaning into the firearm, too. Makes it easier to manage, rather than what seems to be the standard "leaning back" pose most new women shooters take.

I see just as many men as women make this mistake at the range. This is not a "woman thing" per se.

I taught my wife to shoot everything I had and I taught her to lean into it, her accuracy as a newbie was immediately competing with guys I knew who have been shooting a lot longer.

Of course I don't think the comment was women need to learn to lower their elbow, just that this thread deals with women shooters and so that's what we are seeing.

Great photos. I hate to be a killjoy, but look back through this thread and count how many beautiful pairs of eyes in the photos are UNPROTECTED by shooting glasses.

If you treasure your wives/girlfriends/daughters, please make them wear eye protection!!!!

Sorry to be an old crank, but I have been experiencing multiple problems with my eyes this year and am even more fanatical about shooting glasses than I was before, which was pretty fanatical already- for myself and also for my wife and two sons. I make my boys wear their shooting glasses when we shoot Airsoft, too.

I was shooting at a plate rack just this morning with .45 FMJ and got thunked in the chest more than once from some sprayback chunks of lead and brass. Coulda hit my eye.....

I was absolutely not pointing fingers at women

Plenty of guys shoot with that chicken wing flapping in the breeze

But if you love your ladies, you should show them how to pull it in tight!

And lead by example!

Does anyone else think that 10 Ring Dao's woman had an eye dominance issue?

It looked like she was trying to aim with her left eye. Hard to tell for sure, just wondered if
anyone thought they saw that.

Here are a couple of pics of my wonderful wife....whom REALLY likes to shoot. She is a world class sportingclay shooter, member of TEAM USA, and contract shooter for BERETTA. She has recently learned to enjoy rifle and pistol shooting, and gotten her CCW. Her carry gun is a BHP, and pocket gun is a Keltec P3AT. But her "work gun" is a Beretta 682 Gold E 12 ga with 32" barrels and custom wood to fit.......
