I don't even know anymore
No, this isn't another "how do I carry?" thread. I have this one figured out.
I do a fair amount of bike riding (10-30mi a week). I also live in a relatively urban area at the moment, and especially since I just moved here, I wanted to carry a few essentials (wallet, keys, cell phone, pistol, etc) without a lot of junk in the pockets of my gym shorts. Concealed carry on a bicycle just seemed too difficult.

The Camelbak Mule performs the job beautifully. My non-gun stuff goes in the upper pocket for easy access as well as not interfering with the gun. I was even more pleased to find that my Sig P6 fits like a glove in one of the pouches in the lower pocket, and, as if by design, theres an elastic "retention strap" that velcro's the pistol in place.

Here's the Camelbak, the P6, and a spare mag of Hydrashok.

And the lower pocket. The "retention holster" is on the right.

And the pistol in the pocket. Perfect fit.

Before you all start hollering about not being able to draw quickly, I figure if I need to use it, the BG will probably be demanding my wallet or my bike. If he wants the bike, he can have it. If he wants the wallet, it'll be obvious I gotta go into the bag for it, so I'll just draw the pistol instead of the wallet. I could even fire it through the bag if I need to.

That's prety good as far as it goes. Hopefully the mugger will wait, and of course hopefully he isn't just a nut who wants to shoot you. Around these parts I have bear to worry about as well and I know they won't wait for me.

Have you tried a shoulder rig? I've made a custom one from parts of various rigs that seems to work really well on the bike. I realize the shoulder rig is out of fashion these days, but it avoids the problems of IWB carry when you have a lycra WB and you don't want heavy iron limiting your hip range of movement.

Got to agree he may want the entire bag. I carry a NAA 22 mag in a neck holster. I hope I can distract him long enough to get my 1911 out of my fanny pack.

With bike shorts you have no place to hid a handgun.

I do about the same amount of bike riding, and I wear my G26 in an Uncle Mike's kydex OWB at a 4 o'clock position. It's usually around 11 pm, so I wear a safety vest, and it covers the G26 just enough that I don't get funny looks.

I ride about 50-75 miles each week. My 1st stop in the mornings is the gym before I go to work. I have found the Sahara Strider from Blackhawk to work wonderfully for carrying. The pistol and 1 mag go on your chest. Quickdraw isn't going to happen, but it's not on my back. Blackhawk is no longer making them, but they can be had for about $40-50.

Quantico is out of stock, but I would give them a call. I tried to order from Botach early this year but got a run-around for 5 weeks and then I canceled my order.

Outerlimit, bike shorts are padded so that your "stuff" doesn't go numb. On short rides it's not a problem, but for commuting 25 miles a day they area big help.

What is the purpose of bike shorts anyways.

..yeah just the look of bike-shorts should be
deterrent enough unless you´re in the cali bay area.

Leave the gun at home and make sure
your bikeshorts are an obsecene color, too :)

That's why I have a padded seat cover. Trust me, it doesn't look as bad as bike shorts. :D

I really don't wan't to sound like I'm roasting you. The back pack is a great Idea. IMO Its just better to keep your protection where you can get to it easily.

I have no problem mountain biking with a scandium j frame.

I carry in the front, inside the pants 2 oclock.. It has to be the exact right holster though,
wore one out, bought about 4 differant ones and ended up having to make one.

More worried about animals. Luckily we have no bear. (YET)

Only problem is sweat. Can't quite figure out what to do about that.
Keep my gun lubed i reacon.

I keep my CCW permit, bug wipes, cell phone in my camel back
(water pack)

351 pd is light enough to stay in place using my fruit of the lume if need be.
Had to bob the hammer though.
