I found this report in my daily AMAC news report concerning the abilities of the armed folks inn the IRS. Sounds like the agents are in need of a basic gun safety course. Maybe they could get with Alec Baldwin for a group rate.

3. More Unintended Discharges Than Intended Ones
The poor firearms training for IRS agents has led to more accidental firings than intentional firings, according to a separate inspector general’s report from 2012.

“Having the availability of deadly force puts hiring so many new agents into perspective,” Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform, told The Daily Signal.

The inspector general for tax administration “found they fired their guns more times by accident than on purpose,” Norquist said. “I’m not sure if that’s good or bad.”

The poor training was not a new problem, since the 2012 report from the inspector general found similar issues with firearms training.

“If there is insufficient oversight, special agents in possession of firearms who are not properly trained and qualified could endanger other special agents and the public,” the report says.

The 2012 report not only found that IRS agents fired their weapons by accident more times than intentionally, but that the agency concealed details about the accidental discharges.

“There were a total of eight firearm discharges classified as intentional use of force incidents and 11 discharges classified as accidental during FYs 2009 through 2011,” the report says.

And, the inspector general’s report continues, “we found that four accidental discharges were not properly reported.”

It says that “the accidental discharges may have resulted in property damage or personal injury.”

The public report, however, redacts four references to unreported accidental discharges of firearms.

Just for perspective, that is probably true of most LE agencies and even more so with private citizens. Considering most street cops will never fire their weapon at another person during their career I don't find that terrible unusual. Especially for agencies who are almost never actually on the streets.

Its been said for a hundred years. "The only thing...............Is Death and Taxes"
We live in a world where everybody. I mean everybody lives with no thought of the future. Everybody conducts themselves like they are going to live forever. That's a personal issue, I guess. But, couple that with a generation of people young and now old that have had, for their entire lives in some cases. every cent they ever had doled out to them from some form of social services. Now, suddenly the government releases 10's of Billions of dollars into Society in a manner of no oversight "To speed things up". Most of that money was stolen by professional life time "system players" and other even more brazzen scammers.
The only agency I know that can track this mess down and get the taxes owed on it is the IRS. As I said at the start. People don't think they are going to die someday. And there are people that think taxes don't have to be paid. What kind of people are all these?. I would assume people that may need to be apprehended. The 2A battle has finally legally armed everyman jack in this country. But, the IRS can't have a gun?? Accidental discharge??? Come on.

IRS concerns stem from not taking care of your business. If you hide income and/ or cash earnings, or a myriad of other things, you are quite possibly exposing yourself/ your family to many headaches. Do you really want a non-professional completing your taxes?

A couple of years ago there was a bit of a kerfuffle about all the little agencies of the government forming their own enforcement sections --meaning their own armed police forces. I don't think it was on THR.

But this came to light in a discussion of why the government had recently ordered so many billions of rounds of ammunition.

The topic finally evaporated, but not before there were suggestions made that these new "cops" could form an additional internal armed service for the government, with dark implications offered about that possibility.

Just sayin', because of the concern about poor training for all the new enforcement agencies.

So apparently it is now "accepted" that the IRS "needs" its own armed enforcers.... hmmmm.... I thought that was what Federal Marshals were for.

It is problematic newly-minted armed IRS personnel will be specifically "tasked" against a certain type of American citizen. You can stake your entire 2023 salary the hosts of The View will absolutely NOT be audited.

Besides, very wealthy people retain teams of accountants, MBAs, and lawyers.
People of normal income simply "take their lumps" and pay whatever IRS demands.
