should I forget about it?
I have a lot of new bullets in boxes from the major mfg's. Had 'em for a long time.
I took some Sierras out and the lead tips were all showing various signs of corrosion. Some of the lead tips that were touching the copper jacket had left a black spot on them.

Any way to clean these up and stop the corrosion? I'm going to have them for a while.
Thanks

You can tumble them in a vibratory tumbler. Just don't leave them in too long, or the soft lead tip of the bullets will deform.

Hope this helps.

Wipe em off with a rag and shoot them. They will shoot just fine. Boogers on the tip will do almost nothing to affect accuracy.

If you are refering to what I believe you are, It's a thin coating that forms on lead due to exposure to atmosphere, it is somewhat harder than the lead itself and brittle, once it covers the exposed tip I believe it stops on it's own (I have ammo that has been in this condition for decades) it has no effect on accuracy and I believe it has very little effect on bullet performance.

I wouldn't worry about it.
