Which has worse recoil p99c(Compact) in 9mm or millenium PT145(.45) ?

My buddy just got the PT145 mill. and we were shootin it today and im not sure if i like it or not. but if someone has shot both of these and can help me out i'd appreciate it.

Can't speak to the P99 but I have a PT145 and with 230gr FMJ, the recoil is not much worse than my Ruger P89 9mm or even my 1911.

I did try some Remington Golden Saber 185gr +P in the PT145 and I will say I won't do that again! It was like shooting a pistol version of my Mosin-Nagant M38.

Federal makes a personal defense 165gr JHP .45ACP round that is advertised as "reduced recoil". Haven't tried that yet but the ballistics appear to be close to that of standard 185gr FMJ.

BTW, I really like my PT145, light weight and compact and the 10+1 capacity is a big plus for CCW. Just wish extra mags didn't cost $35

I've only fired the P99c, but own a (different) .45. I'm thinking the .45 Taurus will have greater muzzle flip. The little Walther is fairly flippy for a 9mm, but not bad once you spend some time with it.

I own a PT-145...the more I fire it, the more I like it. Recommend you use lighter weight all-copper bullets...no muzzle flip, less recoil, quicker second follow-up shot. Also the Taurus copper-top and/or Corbon DPX copper bullets penetrate well and have consistent expansion out of the shorter barrel.

PT-145

i honestly dont think that the taurus PT-145 recoils that bad, ive never shot the 9mm but i do have two 380s and i dont think the recoil is that much worse with the 45
