Worst Carry Pistol Option

We hear these threads pretty often. I'm going to refrain from making guesses on guns ive never owned, which I think far too many people are doing here. This thread as a source of useful experienced information is substantially compromised as a result.

So, just from my own modestly substantial collection of guns, which ranges from the 1895 nagant to home built personal use only AK Pistols made in 2007...

I would have to say that my worst carry gun would be the SIG Mosquito. It actually kinda hurts to admit this since it is by far not my cheapest gun - as a matter of fact at $400 OTD it cost more than I would say about 50% of my guns. I own quite a few SIGs and so I thought that it would be fitting to have a SIG manual-of-arms 22LR for practice. Nope. Well, maybe - if you want to include frequent failures to fire, failures to eject, and failures to feed as part of your drill. Further, the gun is inaccurate, has a DATrigger that is WORSE than my 1895 nagant pistol, and the yellow plastic dot sights get dirty easily and become useless - it would have been better to simply paint it white like a standard SIG lollipop.

While the .22LR round is certainly not a "manstopper", however you might define that, it is not the glaring deficiency in this expensive piece of Swiss imported crap. And yes, I'm using good quality ammo - .22 CCI Mini-Mag as recommended by SIG. I even sent the gun back to SIG in NH with the above complaints. The idiot there fired 2 magazines of CCI and sent it back claiming that he couldn't see any problems. Cost me $80 to send it UPS.

Finally, the 10 rnd magazines are anemic, but I suppose I should be glad of that because of where I live right now.

I would feel MUCH safer with the 1895 nagant pistol loaded with 32acp or Fiocchi Nagant 7.62 in my pocket. The same could be said of my 1858 Remington Blackpowder, or with a .45LC conversion cylinder. It might take forever to reload those two guns, but at least they have six or seven shots of good hits before they become steel clubs.

If you buy a Mosquito, do so with the full expection that it is strictly a range gun only. and set your targets no further out than 15 yards.
