Worst shooting pistol ?

Toss-up ... a Bond Arms Texas Defender in 9mm; everything was way too heavy, from the actual weight to cocking the hammer, pulling the trigger, massive recoil with a slippery wood grip -- it's long gone. Closest competitor was a Taurus 617 which locked up after about 20-30 rds and had a trigger that felt like it had been dipped in sand. However ... $85 to an excellent gunsmith and it's now one of my favorite guns; in fact, it's sitting right next to me as I type, it's my house gun ...

For me its, the M9. Not because its inaccurate or anything like that but because I have nothing but bad luck with them.

The first time I fired one was in 1992 while a guest of the United States Army at Ft Lostinthewoods MO. The weapon was pretty new (not packing grease new, but new for the Army) and in 100 rounds I had at least a dozen feed failures. It reached the point where I was doing the fire and rack just to make sure it went bang when I pulled the trigger.

The next time I used the M9 was during training at Ft Bragg NC in 2007. The pistol was obviously not new, and likely spent many years in the training environment being maintained by Joe under somewhat sketchy circumstances. Not only did the failure to feed issue crop up, but I had several soft strikes on the primer (the firing pin hit with enough force to mark the primer but not with enough force to fire it). I'm guessing these were failure to seat the round properly due to excessive wear and tear...

In 2008, the M9 let me down twice while mobilizing for Iraq at Ft (sucks)Dix, NJ. While shooting pistol qualification the weapon locked up (slide wouldn't move, magazine wouldn't eject, trigger wouldn't move) after the first round was fired. According to the small arms armorer I followed up with the issue was repaired by the judicious application of C4 and det cord on the ordnance range.

The second issue happened after the third shot on the transition fire range (transitioning from M4 to M9) when the front slide went flying down range. Seems the disassembly lever release pin sheared off...

So yeah, it gets my vote for worst shooting because everytime I've shot it, its had problems.

There may be worse out there, but the Kel-Tec PF9 I tried at a range recently was without question the most unpleasant handgun I've ever fired. The Kahr 9 was the same size but shot comfortably - the Kel-Tec twisted around and lashed at my hand and trigger finger. It was fairly accurate and put the 9mm rounds where I wanted them, but I would not want to shoot this gun again unless I absolutely had to.

I had an RG double-action .22 snubby that I fired over 150 rounds in one day, trying all the different brands/types of ammo I could find. I hit a 9" paper plate twice at less than 2 yards out of those 150 rounds.

You read that right 2 yards.....6 feet away 2 hits out of 150 shots

Hey, I'm not the world's best revolvr shooter, but that was bad. And that revolver sent ALMOST as much lead downrange as it did sideways and rearward.

Bersa Thunder 380......... biggest piece of crap I've ever shot. Borrowed it from a buddy to let my wife shoot. Jammed on about every clip and type of ammo we fed it. Not a good way to get my wife interested in shooting~!

Years ago I had a S&W M59. It worked great but had the ergonomics of a brick and the trigger felt like a toy gun. I haven't cared for S&W semi-autos since then.

Wow....Bersa 380 is one of my fav shooting auto's....great DA trigger and over 2k rounds in mine with only 2 FTF that I can remember....one was on the first mag and another was using some reloaded 380 because I could not find any new.
You must have a lemon because My brother owns one and a few other friends own them and all have been 99.999999999 percent reliable.

Brand new HK USP in .45 ACP. At 10 yards, it shot a pattern of 6+ inches. Went back to HK, and got a new barrel. Took six weeks. When it came back, it was missing the o-ring on the barrel. Called HK, and was informed that "none of our weapons is shipped unless 100% complete"! No more HK for me.

RG 22 short revolver, my Dad give a drunk $5 for it way back, he got cheated big time.

You could get in one those round metal corn bins and shoot it and not hit any wall!!
