Would you sell an HK USP compact to get a Hi Power?

Would you sell an HK USP compact 9 to get a BHP?

I'm looking at a couple of nice BHP Capitans. I can only afford one if I sell one of my HK USP compact 9's however.

They're different weapons for different purposes, so if my mission requirements changed I might have to change my weapon.

If all I had was a Browning and I suddenly realized I needed a lighter and more compact pistol, I might trade it.

If all I had was a USPc and I suddenly realized I needed a combat/duty weapon, I might go for the Browning.

Personally I'd explore getting reliable 15 or 17 round magazines for the Browning, especially since they're supposed to fit flush into the mag well. A 9mm pistol that size should hold at least 15 rounds.

I'd also sell my VCR or something before I traded in either.

I have a USP9 and a BHP MkIIIs.

Altho the HK shoots very well. There is something so reassuring w/ the all steel BHP. Also it has fewer and more robust looking internal components. Not to mention it is more compact in size and dimension altho heavier.

Yes I would in a heartbeat. I have two Hi Powers and one that had over 4000rounds through with no problems at all. The Hi Power just feels good in my hand and I can shoot them all day long better than other types of autos. I must admit that I have never shot a USP though. The 17 round mags for Hi Powers do not fit flush with the bottom of the gun.

No way - no how.... don't like the ergonomics of the BHP and that darn magazine disconnect thingy. blah :barf:

I'll keep my USP 9c thanks. :)

Hmmm- I don't like the USP line because the pistols are not comfortable in my hand. So yeah, I'd sell a USP if I had one.

Now whether or not you should depends on your preferences and priorities. If you like what you have in your USP, be patient and save. If you don't care about your USP anymore and it doesn't fill a particular niche for you, sell it and finance what you want.

The one additional thing I would say is that CDNN investments is running a deal on FN Hi-Powers right now. They're from the same assembly line as the Brownings, but the FN's receive the military finish and FN stamps. I can't remember the price exactly but I seem to recall the gun being around $400. You might want to look at giving those a try before laying out more money on a Capitan.

Yes they are $400.

However if you want one order it ASAP.

I ordered mine on Monday and the guy said they had less than 24 left.

Since you said

one of my HK USP compact 9's

then I'm assuming you've got more than one USPc. In that case go for it. If not, I wouldn't do the deal, but it's just me talking.

I think it boils down to how much do you like your HK vs how much you want the Hi Power. Personally, I'd do it in a second, but I'm not a compact fan. YMMV

Would I?

Nope, I like my HK USP C 9mm.

To me it's an apple vs orange comparison since one is designed as a carry gun based on the full size duty weapon vs a full size duty weapon.

I can't carry a full size BHP for a carry gun. I can carry my USP.

As for mags..they both have respectable capacities with 13rd mags available for the HK.

Good Shooting

Yeah I would. Never been impressed with the USP line and eventually traded mine off.
