Down at my LGS today, and Canik TP9SFX is $20 more than the S&W M&P 2.0 5". (569 vs 549). Apparently demand for them has driven them to near Glock prices.

Planning on selling my G34 and moving back to S&W, but had been toying with the idea of the Canik... when it was the 'budget' competition gun. Full price, I guess I can't justify it I guess.

I did find one online dealer at $429 which seemed a bit more reasonable based on how they were originally marketed as a low price point competition shooter. I guess I was just a little too late haha

Supply and demand - if they introduce a quality product that people start to truly prefer - regardless of price, then the prices will start to creep up.

Basically, it's a gun that has transcended "good for the price" and is now just "good".

Well also there's been a strong downward pressure on gun prices in general lately. The production costs are probably pretty similar across companies for polymer guns, and so at a guess it's less that Canik prices have gone up markedly as much as it is that all polymer gun prices are pretty close to zero economic profit right now.

this was interesting to me as well... i am wondering if they re-named it to change price. Same SKU number... I was able to find one online yet in the 400's... Now just the decision between it and the S&W 2.0

what is the difference between the first one on the left and the third one on the right?

The price difference and number difference I see, but the pistols look the same???

The SFX is their competition gun so not really apples to apples. It has an rmr cut, fiber optic front sight, extended mag release and slide stop, front serrations,xx and is built to tighter tolerances. Many of the other models such as the SF and SA are around 350$ online and worth it

I was interested in the SFX, but at $550 without optic compared to a SIG P320 RX with optic for $770 I saw at todays gun show my interest wanes.

TP9SFX here for $629 shipped. https://www.kygunco.com/Product/View?ItemNo=128636 Comes with a vertex venom red dot. I got one 2 weeks ago for the same price but mine had the vortex viper. Its a nice gun but it has a too strong recoil spring. I was having ejection issues with factory 115gr ammo. I switched to a glock guide rod set up and it fixed that. Also since the sig 320 gun dropping and firing fiasco century is putting heavier striker safety plunger springs in the guns. The spring I think is too heavy and it made my trigger pull stagey. I changed that spring with a glock plunger spring which fixed the trigger issue. Overall the gun is very nice with a lot of potential. It's also a tack driver with the red dot.

Well, the price point was what had me looking so closely at them. I found a 5inch M&P 2.0 for $429 with free shipping. So <460 out the door, I feel like it's a good deal over the Canik. I may still end up with one of them in the long run, depending on how pricing structure goes with them
