I have some Chip McCormick magazines and have had issues with them feeding hollow point ammunition, specifically HST's. I contacted them and they referred me to the following language from their FAQ section. They've worked well with RN ammunition but I'd stick with Wilson Combat if you're going to use hollow points.

Q. What types of ammunition give the best function with Chip McCormick Custom's magazines?
A. The Model 1911 pistol was designed to function best with .45 ACP cartridges that use a bullet with a smooth contoured nose, seated to an overall length of 1.260 inches. Model 1911 pistols chambered for the .38 Super cartridge also function best with bullets having a smooth contoured nose and an overall length of 1.260 inches. In pistols chambered for the 9mm cartridge, the best bullet shape is one with a smooth, rounded side and nose profile. Those projectiles should be seated so that the overall length of the cartridge is at least 1.150 inches.
If you are still having issues with Ammo, please contact our Tech Support Team.

I did say to someone, we shoot 1911s so we can practice malfunction drills every match. Hard to do that with Glocks. Flame on - ducking for cover.

Heard at matches - Shooter ready, Beep. Nothing. Shooter - Gosh Darn safety, Click - bang, bang.
No Fair!!! You moderators can get away with inciting a riot, whereas we can't !!:p

I own two 1911s. My avatar and the ratty parts gun I tried to blow up years ago as a science experiment for 1911 TUNER. ( I failed, much to my surprise.)

But after 21 years working for Les Baer I can say I have handled and shot a LOT of them. My favorite pistol.

Your gun looks beautiful, but unless you shoot with gloves on....You will probably want to remove that sharp checkering on the beavertail hump. We sent out many a gun with that feature and most of them were sent back, requesting that we either blunt it or remove it entirely.
