It would be so cool if Glock made a revoler, Glock changed the auto world and it would change the wheel gun world.

And occasional (non)recalls.

Haven't had one of those in the revolver world since the voluntary Blackhawk transfer bar issue back in the 80's IIRC.

Glock needs to make a 1911 first before getting into the Revolver market.

Oh please God in heaven NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! ;)

who needs mental Ajax to scrub the image of it from his mind

Judging from the adherents in both camps, the resulting creation would either be:

Perfection squared

-OR-

the square root of c@#p

Yah and the polymer will be so dense they'll be able to design it as a top-break.

Or maybe it was the idea that was dense.

jmm

It would never work. As has been demonstrated in another thread concerning Glocks and SHTF scenarios, guns with any kind of plastic inherant to the design are worthless due to their inability to withstand temperature extremes. If the temp falls much below 70 degrees, they become brittle and may break if fallen upon by a 300 lb relative. If left in a car in AZ for more than an hour (in July), they become a sloppy, misshapen worthless mess.

Hey now! I voted for the Glock in that thread!

I thought the Glock philosophy is simple parts and loose clearances to maintain function in dirt.

Applying the same approach to revolvers should degrade performance significantly and thus fall below Teutonic standards.

And attempt to call it "PERFECTION" also?
Glock changed the auto world and it would change the wheel gun world.
Glock added to the auto world, but it changed nothing. The Glock is of the same basic design of other semi-autos.

I would assume a Glock revolver would look like this. http://world.guns.ru/handguns/hg49-e.htm Too bad the russians never imported these. I would have bought one.

Polymer frame, top break .357 magnum? Y-y-y-you shoot it first!

My guess is, they made captured Chechnyans test fire this thing. After they'd blown up a couple of dozen, they probably decided it was best not to try to export the thing.

MCgunner, did they ever even MAKE them?If they did,I'd bet you could import it.I'd probably buy one too...

I'll just let you guys buy 'em. I'll wait for all the test reports of frames blowing apart. This is definitely one to let others try first. :D there is a reason they don't chamber .357s in anything, but steel framed revolvers. There's also a reason no modern revolvers are top breaks. S&W had the American, Russian, and Schofield revolvers. They were all chambered for lighter load .45s than the '73 Colts for a reason. Top breaks are WEAK actions.

I'll stay conventional, thanks. If and when they get a Glock's rep for reliability, I may try one. Don't figure that will likely happen, though.

I don't know if they ever were made, but doubt it. I don't think the thing could be made, frankly. I don't think it'd hold together for a cylinder full. Call me a pessimist on this one.

Seeing as revolvers are essentially unchanged for the last 100 years or so,I dont really see plastic as the next "advancement".

Glock took an existing idea and improved on it, err at least the mechanics of it, the ergonomics STILL suck :neener:

And other than just to say they did, WHY would they mess with something unknown when they have their hands full making up new cartridges so that they can make new guns for them?????

Glunk

That image just made me puke. Then I thought about how it would acually work (not work) and puked again.
They could could call it the Glunk!

what the heck you been smokin???

i dislike glocks, but even i have to admit that they started the whole polymer thing. every respectable (and sometimes not respectable) companies have tried their own version of a polymer pistol. that says a lot.

BUT LET ME STRESS....ill take a big chunk of metal over a bunch of plastic anyday. i guess you can say im just old school that way.:)
