Wraparound eye protection for prescription glasses wearers?

If they met the z87 standard they'd say so loud and clear and saying they don't is pretty clear.

Start over? Perhaps, but only you can assess your risk. I would only permit Z87+ or the milstd eyewear at work or on a range. I personally recommend the ugly milstd goggles the military uses since they don't interfere with hearing pro and fit over everything.

I was hoping you could recommend a specific item for me based on the requirements I listed. I can't find anything with brown lenses that fits over Rx glasses and is Z87 certified. My eye doctor said I have to get brown or dark gray. In the other thread several people including yourself said brown would be better for shooting. I found one where the lens color is described as "smoke", http://www.safetyglassesusa.com/360-s.html,
can you or anyone here tell me whether "smoke" is the same as "dark gray"? The other gray ones on that site are specifically called "medium gray" so I assume those do not meet what my eye doctor specified. BTW he specifically said he knows a lot of people use yellow ones for shooting, he said not to get those.

I just got another idea. I have several of those disposable rollup sunglasses the ophthalmologist office gives to wear home after having one's eyes dilated. They fit right on the face, under the Rx glasses. Is there any reason it wouldn't be OK to wear those under the Rx glasses and wear the clear safety glasses on top, when I go to an outdoor range? The clear ones I ordered are Z87 certified.

When I was looking for the goggles on the web I did see that safetyglassesusa offers them, but like all the other sellers they only mentioned the clear, I did not realize a person can buy the tinted lenses separately and just change them out. I guess all the places that sell them figure prospective buyers already know this.

One question pops into my head in this context, if the lenses are easy to change out, does that also mean if something hit them just right they could pop out while the goggles are in use?
