I have a Springfield M21, and I was thinking about selling it to finance other purchases I'd shoot more.

What would a good asking price be?

It's in very good to excellent condition, hardly ever shot (that's the problem...)

The scope would come off, probably. It's a Nikon Buckmaster with Mildot reticle.

How old is it? Is it one of the new M21s or one from the 80s? Are those front and rear lugged? I don't think I'd pay more than $1800 for it, but some would pay more than $2200 I suppose.

Springfield's Hierarchy goes like this:

M1A Basic
M1A Loaded
M1A National Match
M1A Super Match
M21
M25 Whitefeather (Carlos Hathcock ed.)

The Springfield website says it has all the features of the SuperMatch, with the following barrel: 22", Twist: 1 turn in 10 inches, right hand, Douglas Premium air-gauged custom heavy match.

MSRP on the website shows $3086, but I was wondering what the group thought it could reasonably be sold for.

My numbers are still accurate for all but those enamored by the SA brand. To those, there is no teling what the price will be.
