I would appreciate any feedback. I have an unfired Springfield M1A Standard with synthetic stock which has a Springfield Gen3 mount and Springfield 6 x 40 scope which are in very good condition. I'm looking to sell this and wondered what a good asking price would be? Would $1400 be too much?

I would suggest checking what they are going for on auction sites like Gunbroker. Offhand I think $1400 may be a bit low depending on the value and condition of the scope and mount. The rifle without those would probably go in the $1200 range if it's truly unfired.

Used glass doesn't bring much compared to new prices. The value of the mount depends upon the manufacturer. As do the rings.

Honestly, if I were you I'd register over here:

That's a forum just for your rifle, and those guys can tell you everything you want to know.

To bad you didn't try to sell at the hight of the craze, people were paying silly prices for stuff. The price you are asking does not sound to bad.

The rifle is unfired. The scope, mounts, and rings are like new. They were purchased new with the gun. So everything is like new.

Looks nice. The whole setup would probably sell quickly at $1400. I think you can get more than that, but it depends on your area, how you go about selling it, and how long you want to wait. Definitely see what they are selling for on Gunbroker, Auction Arms, etc.
