Heard rumors that Glock will not sell std. capacity magazines to the public and will force dealers to obey such a policy. Is this true?

Not sure about that, but just yesterday I picked up 4 new factory 15rd mags for my G22, they are marked "Restricted LE/GOVT ONLY" did not stop my dealer from selling them to me for $22 per.
So as long as my dealer is selling, I guess I could care less about what Glock USA wants.

I exchanged e-mails with a major on-line Glock dealer about the middle of August. He said Glock would be selling standard capacity mags after the AWB (if it expired), but that they wouldn't even put them in the pipeline until AFTER the AWB was history. They told him to expect them four to six months after the AWB expired. FWIW, that's what SIG was saying as well. If the time estimates holds, you can't expect to see standard capacity mags from Glock and SIG until January-March next year.

FWIW, that's what SIG was saying as well.

I got an email alert from SigArms that normal capacity magazines were on sale at their on-line store the day after the ban expired. Cost was around $50.

I called Glock and was told Dealers would have them roughly in 6 weeks. He said that estimate was "padded".

I had a moronic gun shop moment today!!
I called to see if I could get a couple of those evil LEO mags at a local shop.
What I was told flabbergasted me!!
The moron who answered the phone said that they "were not going to get into that, because after the new ban took effect, they would all have to be turned in!! :uhoh:
Anyone who purchased these (evil) hi-caps was not thinking clearly!!!"
I also was told that there were not that many LEO marked hicaps anyway!! :banghead:

But, he did have orders for non LEO mags, with all the distributers, that would be in in about 60-90 days!!

Sheesh!!
What a bone head!!

I ordered three from CDNN!!!!

Glock is in the business to make money.

They will be selling hi-cap mags in the near future.

My dealer has already confirmed this.

I picked up 5 new LEO marked G17 mags yesterday. 24.95 each.

They have the smooth sides on the top like the 10 rounders from the last 2 years. 9mm4 followers. Very nice.

Glock will have unmarked mags within 2 months, and I plan on buying 5 more of those.

Glock already shipped out all the LE only mags sitting around and are holding shipments of all pistols until they can make sure they have standard caps to ship with each one.

Okay I picked up my Glock 19 last night. 10 round mags came with it. No coupon for 15 rounders in it. I ordered the gun last Wednesday so it came from the distributor's stock that was there prior to Sept. 14th. Oh well I'll wait for Wild to get some G19 mags in.

Gunsmith at my local Gander Mountain (Maumee, OH) pointed to some Glock packaged mags and said, "we've got some hi-caps in." When I asked if he had any 10/22 mags in yet.

I don't have a glock anymore and these didn't look like they'd feed .22's very well. To be honest, I didn't count witness holes so he may have been mistaken, but he's been fairly knowledgeable in the past.

Glock's making standard and real high-capacity mags for and selling them to the rest of the world (I recently bought one). Why shouldn't they sell them to Americans?

The source for rumours like that is probably the same that says the G17L and G24 are out of production. :(

Talked to a mag distributor about this today.

His understanding is that they most certainly are going to be shipping hi-caps for sale in the US. He was unclear of the date. He did say that he was told that the first priority was going to be to replace all the 10 rounders currently packed with guns for sale. I guess that makes sense.

In the interim, I've been able to buy LEO mags with no problems. In fact, I kind of LIKE having legal mags stamped:
RESTRICTED LE/GOVT ONLY
:D
