I have a wwi 1911 with original parts. now before everyone gets jumpy, the 1911 has been nickle plated. I did some research and i know the collectors value has obviously left the building, but does anyone have an idea of what it's worth. i took it to a 1911 guru who just went over it and made it a little smoother.

Just need some quick reference points. Main question is how much is it worth.

Need to know a lot more then that to even guess.

Some good pictures would help a lot.

But a chrome / nickle / whatever buffed & plated WWI 1911 I would guess, is in the sub-$500 range without seeing it.

very true, picking it up from the guy who went over it tomorrow. there is no pitting on the barrel its a 475** serial number i'm pretty sure. it wasnt over buffed and no scars. original wood grips.

That serial # (if it is really 5 digit and not 6) puts it mid to late 1913 colt production, I think. Too bad it was nickled, still should be a joy to shoot.

That one is also 1913, but a colt civilian production. Only 3500 made that year for civilian market. I am not an expert, just have a bunch of websites bookmarked from when I was researching some 1911's my father was selling for a friend.

i'm jk it's a 6 digit. but not a civilian version
still need to know what to ask for it
425*** is the serial number
need pictures?
