Hi everyone.

i was looking for a russian WWII rifle to buy, but i need the same model that the russian sniper "vassili" had, but there is no way i can find what kind of weapon he use.

i found a few pics and i think is the M44 (M44Russ Russian Model 1944 Mosin Nagant) the Mosin91/30Spec Russian Model 91/30 7.62x54R Mosin Nagant or the Mosin-1938 Russian M1938 Mosin Nagant

if you know any additional info please share it, any info/comment are welcome.

Thank you.

I checked out the wikipedia site... I didn't know Enemy at the Gates was about snipers in WWII.... I've never seen it. I thought it was about corporations, stockholders, and all that stuff...

Guess I'll have to rent it...

you know I know it's not a "sniper" rifle, but I have a old 7mm mauser 98/22 and have to say at 200 yards with iron sights that thing shoots super staight. For a 80.00 gun you can't beat it. look at www.jgsales.com . right now they have a all russian 98 for 249.00

You were thinking about "Barbarians at the Gates". Never saw it... looked dumb.

"Enemy at the Gates" is actually pretty cool.

I thought "enemy at the gates" was horrible. they changed everything to fit modern moviegoers' values.

Read the book, it's much better.

ya can get an ex-sniper hrough Century arms with the holes and original stock and original turned down bolt for under $200 (ya'll have to have a dealer order it for ya, the bulgarians removed the scopes in the 80s and sold them seperatly, ya can then get a repro PU scope new with mount for $210 to mount back on it, cost about $50-$75 more when your done than the made up snipers that are selling for round $380 etc.. but will be totally authentic usually all matching except for the new scope......

An original scope will set ya back about $400 by itself

PU sniper

Watch out for the ones from I.O.,cause the have alum.bases and mounts now.
I have a 1942 Ishevek that is all matching numbers on the rifle, but the scope is not the one it came with, but is is the right one for the rifle,if that makes sense.
Mine is the correct one, even the right year, for the movie you are talking about.
Be carefull, there is a lot of junk that has been stuck together, that people are claiming to be original.
PS,go to the Gunboards SniperRifle forum, for info about these rifles.
