Wyoming House Passes Constitutional Carry!

Don't want the term to become diluted.

A line has to be drawn somewhere. For example, in California, anyone can carry concealed within their own home. :barf: :what:  That's probably below the line. :)

Even though I have permits to carry in Wyoming or Arizona, it felt good, somehow better, on my last trip to Arizona knowing my human right was well respected.

Beside, it's Wyoming! I hold them to a higher standard. That state should be able to match Arizona and Alaska.

However, please understand, I'm glad Wyoming moved in the direction all states should move in.

harrygunner,

The Wyoming legislature always takes many years to get anythng done. :p

But that's not necessarily a bad thing! Sure, it makes it difficult to pass good bills, but it also has stopped a helluva lot of bad bills! :D:D

Sometimes I wish the U.S. Congress was as slow and deliberate getting things done as the Wyoming legislature. :)

Wyoming is the 4th. In order, it's AK, VT, AZ & WY.

I think VT came before AK, but regardless this is awesome news!

Actually, Constitutional carry in VT predates the US Bill of Rights by about 11 years (1777). Alaska became a state in, what- 1959?

Arizona is CC as of July 29th, 2010 and congrats to ya all!!!! We are getting there as a nation and can't give up the good fight. So what is it now, Alaska, Arizona, Wyoming, and Vermont? Is that correct?

Congrats!! Hopefully we will be able to add Idaho to that list as well. It got introduced here in Idaho last Monday!!

Rancid Sumo,

I don't have a link, but all it does is amend the present CCW law to allow those who meet the quals listed in the present bill to carry.

In other words, you need to be qualified to obtain a permit to carry, but don't have to pay the fee, nor can you carry in other states that recognize Wyoming's CC permit.

No inform and disarm clause

While I do understand the thoughts on WY not being true constitutional carry because of the resident requirement. I would argue that WY's law does not have an inform and disarm clause like AK and AZ does. I believe our starting point is a better place to be.:)
