One day off of work a couple of years back I shot just less than 300 rounds at the range in four or five different calibers, all reloaded cartridges that ran flawlessly. I was so excited that I came home and calculated exactly how much money I had 'saved' versus shooting factory 'store bought' ammo. Still overflowing with an excited sense of accomplishment, I reported those figures to my wife after she came home from work. She smiled and asked very sweetly, "Did you ever calculate how much money you would save by not going shooting at all?"
Of course, that was the LAST time any mention was ever made of 'savings' as it relates to my shooting hobby.
