I just got an email from X-Treme Bullets, saying they were dropping the price of their 1000 count plated bullets. It also said that they've negotiated a new shipping agreement with UPS, which will mean reduced shipping rates for products purchased from them, and for a "LIMITED TIME" they will charge a flat rate shipping charge of $5.00 on in stock items, with no limit on quantity.

My one and only purchase from X-Treme Bullets was about 7 weeks ago. At that time, there was 7% off and there was no additional charge for shipping.

My question is: Have they always charged for shipping, and I just happened to catch them when they were offering free shipping, or is this referenced shipping charge something new from them?

It has been free shipping since i remember. So what they have done is take the shipping up charge out of the cost of the bullets and then now charge for shipping. I think they are offering the special $5 for 1 week just to try and not get everyone mad at them. After this next week, the shipping is going to drive the cost back up to the normal price.

I suspected that might be the case. We all know that there's no such thing as free shipping, and any seller that lists free shipping has simply worked the shipping costs into the price. And it's understandable in order for them to remain in business, as long as it's reasonable shipping costs and they don't gouge their customers.

Every order I placed was when they had a 20% off and had free shipping. And orders came in a USPS flat rate $7 box.

Xtreme are good guys. I can't imagine they would be gouging on shipping now or in the future.

As of January they do not ship USPS. Probably mail men complaining about the heavy boxes. Mine had the balls to say something to me about it.

the year + I have used xtreme, shipping has always been included in the price, and that price equal or less than berrys before shipping. Their packaging has always had me stumped on how they make money. three boxes and you get the same size package whether you order 500 95gr 380's or 1,000 230gr HP 45 bullets.

my last order for 500 230gr 45 RN was 60.62. it seems they have dropped that price to $54.12 plus the $5 shipping that actually makes it a buck cheaper. in a week, it will be $70/500. 95% of what I shoot is recasted range scrap so Im set on plated bullets for a good year. Their prices vary, but in the end they always stay the same. Im sure I will stumble on some 15% off codes here within the next year to keep me going.

They've earned my business with consistant quality and pricing. I've always seen the free shipping as well, which was a good draw for me initially. I can see future promos with free shipping as the hook. Either way, I will continue to use them unless their quality falls or their pricing pushes them out of the market for me.

Never had problems with their products but am concerned about this pricing change.

I have been using Xtreme bullets for 4 years now. They use to charge a flat rate of $13 for shipping USPS. About two years ago they dropped there prices per bullet, and added the shipping in to the total price that you seen on the site (hence free shipping). I went back, and looked at my receipts from 3 years ago, and with the new prices I'm paying about $10 less now for .401" than I did three years ago. It's hard to beat Xtreme bullets, and there customer service!

I got the same e-mail and wondered the same thing. Went back on my last coupla orders and did the figuring and it seems with the price decrease and now a charge for shipping, the change is price is pretty much a wash. Makes me wonder if they think folks don't always consider free shipping in the price when browsing for best price?

I placed an order back on 3/28. I have compared that order with free shipping to the same order without the free shipping and it would now cost an additional $8.66. That was for a 1K order. In order for the current price + shipping to be a wash with the free shipping I would need to order a minimum of 3K at a time. Once you go above that you actually make out a bit better.

The UPS shipping sux. It takes three times as long by UPS as it did with USPS. I've ordered twice since they went UPS and it took about 9 days both times.

I've been using Extreme bullets ever since they were known as West Coast Bullet/ Nevada Bullet company. Well over 20 years, and never had a problem with the cost or quality of the bullets. Excellent company to do business with.

dont see packages of 1000

and Im not getting the price reduction? never bought from Xtreme, so I dont know what to compare it to.

There 9mm is listed as .355, Berry's is .356?

I am still going to be ordering from them, regardless of pricing. I was a big fan of MG, but their prices are not what I am willing to pay any more. X-T has sent top-notch quality bullets, and their packaging is second to none.

Going to out in a big order before the 9th to take advantage of the shipping deal, too, even though I am still good to go for 2014 range trips and matches. Gotta start putting together supplies for 2015, right?

Xtreme does have a .356" 9mm bullet also. That's all I load for my 9mm

I was looking to replenish my supply of 180gn .40 as I am down to about 500. My last batch I bought from Rocky Mountain Reloaders and was very happy with them. They are out of stock so I ordered from Xtreme. Almost wonder if they supply RMR. As Xtreme states their 180 is heavy plated add can handle a higher charge. As dose RMR. We will see how long it takes, but the price was good...

Nice post! I'm going to stock up on some while this lasts. I noticed their website says $13 off each 1000, does anyone know if this discount has been applied to the items in their inventory already? For example, the 124gr 9mm RN 500 bullets are $36.27. Is the $13 already taken off if I buy 1000 at 72.54? I never really paid attention the prices on their website because my local reloading store sells these exact same bullets for $37 for 500. I just want to make sure the $13 is already discounted from the $36.27 per 500. If not, is there a coupon code I need to put in? Thanks!

When you log in to check out you get the choice when you choose the shipping method.

I chose the $5 flat rate shipping rate but I don't see any section regarding an additional $13 discount off each 1000 rounds. I added 4 quantities of 500 9mm 124gr rn bullets for $36.27 each for a total of 145.08. Has the $13 off been applied? Thanks

Yes, my last order of 9mm was $46 for 500 with free shipping.
Now it's $36 plus shipping for 500 so somehow it's reflected in the pricing.

Looks like the typical horribly slow shipping from UPS too. I ordered on 5/2. Got ship notice on 5/7. It left on 5/8. Tracking says delivery will be 5/15.

Before the change, i would get my orders in 2 days.
