I've been wanting to try X-Treme 30 carbine bullets for a while now as quite a few people have said they use them and like them. The reason I haven't is because of the velocity limit of 1500 fps (per X-Treme) and a 14.5-15.0 gr load of H110 will exceed that by a pretty good amount. I don't want to deal with barrel leading so what does everybody do who uses these? Do you just deal with leading or is the velocity limit really understated? X-Treme markets the bullet for use in 30 carbine so they must be aware of the velocities.
I suppose the same would go for Berry's bullets as well.

I've also posted this question in the CMP forum.

I shoot plated (Rainier) bullets through my carbine with no issues. I have used them with H110 in the past. I think the "speed limit" is more of a CYA than anything.

That's what I'm hoping the consensus will be. I've been itching to try them since they're about half the price of the Hornadys that I've been using and a better bullet than the Armscor that I've tried.

If they are limited to 1500fps, they will be useless for .30 carbine unless you are loading for a revolver or intend to manually eject each one.

I've shot the Xtreme 110g 30 carbine bullet with 11-13g Unique in my .308. 11g Unique load averaged 1750 fps 13g load averaged 2000 fps. While the 13g load held up fine, the 11g load was ideal because it matched the POI of my full power .308 load @ 100 yards. That way I could switch between full power loads and plinker loads without adjusting my scope.

The Xtreme plating is pretty thick and there is probably a good margin of safety in that 1500 fps warning.

For comparable price, you could go with 110 gr RMR FMJ and not worry about velocity limits.

With 5% THR discount (thehighroad5 + THR ID in the order box), it's $109.25/1000 shipped - http://rmrbullets.com/shop/bullets-...-62mm-8/30-carbine-110-gr-fmj-round-nose-new/

I might try the RMR bullets. I paid a little less for Armscor but because of their profile they have to be loaded to a much shorter COAL (1.630) which I'm not really fond of although they shoot pretty well.

Well, bds, I hope you sleep good at night.

You just cost me $109.00 LOL!!!

I was planning on ordering those from Everglades today.

Thanks for the link & discount info to RMR.
